Precast cement vent block – an alternative for conventional pvc pipe ventilation hole

The pvc ventilation holes are commonly used in most of the BHs.

There is another alternative method to serve ventilation purpose in the BH i.e. the precast cement vent block. Its installation cost is reasonable and the original façade of the BH will not be affected much.

“Black cat or white cat, so long as it can catch the rat, it is a good cat.”

With the installation of this vent block holes, your BH will not be easily traced by the local authority and they cannot complain much on the appearance of the building’s external face.

This is a very old BH. The external appearance is not maintained and it looks ugly and rundown. From far you can still see the pvc ventilation holes protruding out from the building's wall. It’s an eyesore to the public.

This is the façade of another BH. The BH’s wall was painted white colour. As you can see from the photo, the right hand side BH’s internal wall is in black colour. Do you think black colour body absorbing more heat or white colour body? Also, which one looks tidier and neater? I think your answer will be as good as mine.

This is where we put the vent blocks. It should be located near to the top hung panel.

This is the back of the vent blocks.

This photo snapped after they were covered with a cement board, with a gap left below.
